The Waiting is the Hardest Part

You may be wondering where the hell new Eben07 pages are. Fear not, new pages and the conclusion of Operation: 3-Ring Bound is forthcoming, but probably not until after the new year. The reason why is rather simple, to be honest: life is getting in the way of bringing new Eben07 comics to you. This isn’t some cover for a creative drought or behind-the-scenes turmoil. Things are such that making new comics (specifically, drawing new comics) a little difficult for me (specifically, graduating from college, buying a new house, fixing up new house, moving into new house, and finding a job).

The good news is that there will likely be updates, but they’ll be sporadic without much previous notification. However, when we update, it will be announced with much fanfare. Thank you for your understanding through this time of transition, and I’ll be working my hardest to get my footing so we can get this story done and bring you along for the ride.

In the meantime, we’ll try to make regular blog posts and try to do a Full Disclosure or two. Plus, E. Burgoon will be running his Kickstarter for his exciting new comic project, B-Squad throughout December. Check it out and give him some backing! Also, be sure to like our page on Facebook for all the latest news and updates (and silly links). Thanks for understanding.

The Top James Bond Films

I’ve seen all these films multiple times since becoming a Bond fan thanks to my Dad sharing Goldfinger with me as a younger fella. The influence of James Bond on my consumption of culture ranks right up there wit things like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and so on and so on. I’d sit through those on-going marathons on TBS/TNT and now SPIKE or when they pop up randomly on Netflix. I can’t wait to see Skyfall…
James Bond is a very interesting character to me, the portrayl of him by such a diverse set of actors who have evolved and molded James Bond to sort of fit within the frame of their time has always fascinated with me, and I am incredibly eager to move Eben07 closer to some of my interpretations of the Bond mythology with our next series after 3-Ring Bound… should we ever finally finish it.Anyway, there is no doubt Eben07 is highly influenced by my love of James Bond films and lore – and I’m excited to share these rankings with fans of the comic and would love to hear your two cents on my list and shout at me about how crazy I am for putting your James Bond films in the wrong place! All the best,

15. Tomorrow Never Dies

15. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

James Bond vs. the 24 hour news cycle.

Plot Summary

James Bond, played by Brosnan, raids an arms bazaar where a fellow is selling a computer that can basically make China and the UK start the next World War. It’s a great opening scene, that is then slowly mucked and muddled by an odd story that is clearly riffing on Rupert Murdoch and the aggressive nature of the 24 hour news cycle. The story is weak. Terri Hatcher as a former Bond-flame was just an odd choice for the tone of the film – and mostly given a passing look in the story.

Why 15 and not 16?

It didn’t have the “I thought Christmas only comes once a year.” line.
