Our Recommended Reading Order
Each episode should stand on it’s own two legs as an engaging and complete read. However, the Eben07 comic has an over-plot and many of the “Operations” tie into eachother. The best place to just jump in and start is here: click here
Otherwise, below is the recommended reading order and a quick briefing on what the episode or Operation concerns:
Operation : The Twin Cheeks — Not so much a field operation, but some office hijinx mounted by Agent Eben07. Introduces many of the characters in the Eben07 comic – particularly Eben07, his partner Ninja Dan, and their supervisor Clancy Ryan Ford, Jr.
Ben Kurns Presents: The I.C.A. — This series gives a lot of background on the I.C.A.’s origins, founder, and activities throughout history. It also deals with the major overplot point – the theft of an important I.C.A. treasure.
Operation : Clean the Cleaners — This is the first fully declassified field operation. Originally declassified as a three part series – Ride the Snake Eater, Snake in the Box, and Old Pain in the Asp combine to be Operation: Clean the Cleaners. Eben07 and Ninja Dan were sent to Russia to clean after a top operative of an American covert agency. However, things take a wrong turn as zombies, tranquilizers, spirit animals and ancestors get thrown into the mix.
Idols Unfit for Display — Deals with a historical case where I.C.A. founder, Abel, and his trusty sidekick, Danjuro, went deep into the jungles of Peru to clean a temple raided by an American archaeologist. Also, reveals the beginnings of a rivalry between the I.C.A. and a notable organization.
Operation : Goofinger — Another declassified field operation of Eben07 and Ninja Dan. Both agents were sent to Ft. Knox, Kentucky to assess and dispose of the gold depository after a skirmish between CIA/MI6 forces and an undisclosed independent third party. However, the field operation was regrettably interrupted by outside forces seeking to compromise the I.C.A.’s mission.
Operation : For the Love of Russia — Field operations take I.C.A. agents all over the world, but Agent Eben07 always is excitable when they take place in Russia. Just the mear mention of Russia sends him dreaming of possibilities of adventures. However, as Eben07 lay asleep dreaming on the train Ninja Dan finds out they are riding on the mission and attempts to wake 07, he finds his in a lot more than he bargained for.
Operation : Mongoose — Our history is important to us here at the I.C.A. and our founder was involved in many historic events. During the 1960′s, Abel was asked by John F. Kennedy to step out of his role as director of espionage waste management and assassinate Cuban President Fidel Castro. Little did Abel know at the time, this operation would be one that would haunt him for a long time.
Operation: Three Ring Bound – Janitors go missing around the nation and J.Herman Shepard secretly pulls Eben07 and Ninja Dan away from their vacations to go undercover & investigate the source of the disappearance – Popkin High School. As we learned in Operation: Mongoose, espionage janitors don’t make the best cloak & dagger field agents, can Eben07 and Ninja Dan put their rivalry aside and work together to overcome the fact they are in their early 30s and are posing as high school students?
