D. Bethel's Review
Eben07's Review
Thumbs up.  Non anthropomorphized animals.
Big plus.  Sure they're walking on their hind
legs, but they don't have an animal head on a
furry human body.  Big plus.  These characters
kind of remind me of what Warner Bros. did with
their character designs.  The backgrounds get
the job done, but Lauren Monardo is a genius
with panels.

Thumbs up.  Each page is action packed and
ends with techniques that leave the reader to
want more.  MORE!  Big bonus, this comic does
not have a huge archive right now, so it'll be real
easy to catch up.

Thumbs up.  It's got a great, brisque pace,
reminiscent of a cartoon.  The characters are
clear and individual, easy to see and understand,
keeping the reader in the action and up-to-date.

Thumbs up.  It's a young comic, so I can
forgive a lot.  It's a very basic site, but what a
gorgeous banner and navigation buttons.  I
would move the nav. buttons to the top of the
page.  A big minus to the page is that it doesn't
have its own domain name, but is a subsidiary
of the writer's hub site.

Thumbs up.  It feels lived in, that's what I can
say.  It feels like this comic has a life of its own
and we're just finally looking in on it.  It reminds
me, in many senses, of Tracy Butler's infrangible
comic, Lackadaisy in that the characters and
general tone seem innocent and G-Rated, but it
throws you amazing curves by being brutal,
graphic, and mature.  Already, Ham and Eggs
has got me hooked because of its equally
adorable and violent aesthetic.

Though it's very early on, this comic seems to
have everything going for it.  I would love to see
some desktops, downloadables, and
merchandise so I can piddle away my tax return.
Money, who needs it?  Webcomic creators.

Additional Thoughts
Thumbs Up! Wow. Since we began
declassifying in comic form, I have begun to
know that the animals as humans comics are
common and often they just don't interest me.
But the first gander of the art of Ham & Eggs is
astoundingly refreshing and good. The style is
fun and unique for a genre that is fairly
overplayed. I love the choices with the animals. I
would never see a pig as a detective or the
homicidal Nazi browncoat with British helmets
bunnies. Its a clever artistic choice that is
illustrated wonderfully.

Thumbs Up! The comic is really young at this
point, however the characters and writing are
clearly coming from a rich and thought out past
and history. So in terms of a sense of story,
and I think it is simply because it is a young
comic, it is there but its under the tip of that
iceberg. There is clearly rich content going on
and coming.

Thumbs Up! The title characters are based on
the archetypes of very familiar mystery
characters and so thats pegged.
I am impressed how quickly I fell in love with this
comic. It reminds me of how quickly I fell for The
Abominable Charles Christopher.
The action that ensues so quickly after the first
couple pages and the air of mystery is incredibly
thick - its great and exciting.

Thumbs Down. Serviceable, absolutely - but
this comic really needs a good professional site
with the quality art and content. I would
recommend a study of Joel Fagin's archive and
design tutorials this will help with the archives
and some other great tips can be found there.
Also I think they need that URL - hamandeggs is
probably taken, but perhaps there is something
they can find that would at least correlate.

Thumbs Up. Reeeeeeeeeeks of neato. So much
neato my head might explode from the neato
levels.

This may be the youngest comic we review, and
frankly it is already one of the better comics we
will probably ever review. A really really bright
future here and I can't wait for more!
