A historically important revelation about I.C.A. founder Abel’s involvement in the many assassination attempts on Cuban leader, Fidel Castro, in the 1960′s.
Declassification Notes

The assassination of Abraham Lincoln occurred April 14, 1865 at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C.
This page is part one of Abel’s role in the assassination of Lincoln, and next week we’ll have the aftermath, and then we’ll return to Havana, likely concluding Operation Mongoose with an end total of 14 declassified pages, before we return to Eben07 and his story. It is still under discussion by the powers that be if the full story of Abel’s time in the Civil War will be featured in comic form.
If you want to read more about the life and times of Abe Lincoln, Doris Kearns Goodwin’s Team of Rivals is pretty cheap on Amazon.com and from what I hear an excellent biography. Liam Neeson is expected to play the role of Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of the book.

Lincoln? What does this have to do with Cuba and the Speakerbox Gang? Said Gang brought it up.
Who are the goofy guys in the first panel with the masks? It’s a 19th century strain of conspirators, similar to these guys.
Wait, this is the 1860s, weren’t we just in the 1960s? How can Abel be in both? Abel tends toward unexplained longevity.
Just to clarify: Who is Abel? The founder of the ICA and living ancestor of Eben07.

This just keeps getting better and better, interesting and more interesting.
I love the areas with Abel, and I enjoy his flashbacks even more. This arc is probably the best yet.
Thank you, Wolf. We’ve definitely enjoyed the making of this series, and don’t worry, you’ll get a lot more Abel even after Mongoose ends.
Definitely more Abel in the immediate and near distant future. Thanks for the compliments on the current arc, Wolf!
guys, this is really fantastic! Dan, your pencils ROCK, these are beautiful
I love, love, LOVE Abe’s face in those panels, the grin is just priceless
Thanks, Lauren! I’ve always been more confident with my pencils than with inking. Those middle three panels with Abe are probably the saddest three panels I’ve ever drawn. It makes me sad to look at them.
Love the pencil work… quite elegant. I think there is a certain magic about pencil drawings that ink can’t capture.
Dan,
sad, yes. But strangely hilarious
By the way, if you’ve never been to Ford’s theater you should totally go. It’s really cool
Lauren,
I agree, I believe it’s Lincoln’s child-like smile in the middle panels that makes it equally hilarious and sad.
And I have been to Ford’s Theater but it was years ago when I did a tour of D.C. when I was about 11. I’d love to go again.
Hey, how come Abel is able (ha ha) to be both at the Lincoln assassination and the Castro attempts 100 years later?
Abel’s longevity is still classified, Juice. What I can say is that Abel was born sometime between 1756-1757, and founded the I.C.A. (the called the 3CP) in 1776 after finding the Shot Heard Round the World. You can read more about the ‘Shot Heard Round the World’ and the history of the I.C.A. in the ‘Ben Kurns Presents: The I.C.A.‘ : http://www.eben07.com/?p=440
