DECLASSIFICATION NOTES
DEBRIEFING:
Why does NinjaDan have a beard? Like Eben07, he was on vacation for the last two weeks before being suddenly called into I.C.A. H.Q.
Who is that shadowy guy on the screen? That’s the ever-elusive J. Herman Shepard, Director of the I.C.A., he took control over from Abel in 1968.
Vacation? What? When does this story take place? It’s the most current story so far, so that means it takes place after they saw the Ben Kurns documentary, “The I.C.A.”
Hemingway? Yes. Also, Eichmann, Stranger in a Strange Land, Dylan, Berlin, Bay of Pigs Invasion…

Discussion (31) ¬
Nice work, guys.
I do have to say, Dan’s looking good after all this time.
That beard really does suit him. I mean, really. He’s giving Snake a run for his money.
(This now proves that Dan eclipses him in every respect, from Zombie Slaying to Box Use and now to facial hair. Oorah.)
And at long last, we glimpse J. Herman Shepherd, we can see his ear in all its shadowy glory.
And part of his nose.
But his ear.
Yes, his ear. Very nice.
Thanks for the comments, guys. This operation is paced a lot slower, so I’m glad you’re reading each week.
I actually like the pace.
agreed,I also like the pace, it’s really setting things up very nicely. And Dan is totally rockin that beard. Eben’s dialog on this page is CLASSIC!! hahahaha and Dan, (the real Dan not Ninja Dan) the acting on this is excellent, especially on ND, it’s really nice a subtle, I love the last panel, very nice posture and movement, really natural! Great stuff guys
also I love the lighting on panel 3
I agreee.
This is a nice pace, I’m enjoying it.
Thanks guys. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the pace – this operation is going to play out a lot differently and end up being very long. Skeletal estimates put it at probably 50+ comics just for Act One
Thanks Lauren for the kind words on the art and such. I think acting is a term little talked about in the world of webcomics and I wonder why (though, I only really remember talking about it in regards to animation).
I like the pace, too. I’m always a little worried about how well the pace is translating since we update only once a week. Judging from the response here, I find that people think it’s working just fine.
As for panel three, I like how it looks like Director Shepard is trying to lean out of the way of the word balloon (that thing always gets in the way–such a camera hog!).
hahahaha yeah that’s great!
