Eben07

In 2007, we started Eben07 two years ago with the first comic in the Goofinger series. Only close friends knew about Eben07 and they helped spread the word and now we have over 100 comics – readers in all 50 states and over 100 countries worldwide. We’re definitely growing, more people are reading every day, and the website’s makeover is nearly complete as we step into year two.

Our Year Two Highlights

• Completed Operation Mongoose & Operation For the Love of Russia for our web readers.
• Working with Lauren Monardo, Stephen Lindsay & Jason Zuckerman on guest art for For the Love of Russia. (Page 15 & Pages 28 (part 1-4)
• Self-Publishing our first book, Operation: For the Love of Russia.
• Appearing at our first con as special guests at the local SacCon.
• Exhibited as part of the Monster of Webcomics showing in the Cartoon Art Museum
• Glowing reviews of Eben07 in Ain’t it Cool News’ dotComics & I Am Legend and the “security leaks” that appeared on Fleen.com ( one & two )
• D.Bethel’s inking process featured as a two part series on Webcomics.com (Part Two & Part One)

Lastly, the biggest and best highlight has been the support of the fans. Cheesey & cliche to say, but there have been a lot of “voting contests” that Eben07 has been caught up in, particularly lately – and we’re still a small independent comic, but our fans and comic friends have been so steadfast in supporting us in clicking on all these links we send to the weekly and daily, voting for us, writing emails congratulating us on the above highlights, and in general making us feel like the work we are doing is meaningful and special to somebody outside of ourselves. That feels great, and I hope you guys understand how much we truly appreciate our fans.

Giveaway & Raffle

So for our San Francisco area, and potential visitors to the Cartoon Art Museum, I’ve got two tickets to paradise and I want you guys to pack your bags, huddle around that virtual gallery and see your favorite webcomics scroll by and see that this medium is truly putting out quality work. I’ll be giving out those two tickets at our showing at Big Brother Comics in downtown Sacramento on September 12th.

We’ll also be conducting a fundraiser-raffle running Sept. 10 to Oct. 10. All we’re looking for is $1 paypal donations, for every $1 you donate you’re entered once into the raffle.$5 = 5 entries, etc. etc.

The winner will receive the inked original artwork of the Eben07 Year Two poster (release pending approval of J.Herman Shepard) and an Amazon.com gift card for $25.

Details on all this will come on the 10th of September.

Year Three Agenda

Probably the first big item coming up on the agenda will be the release of Operation: Mongoose as a print book. The cost of which we’re hoping to get at $5. The status of which is 90% ready for print and secondly we’re working out the details for a preorder run.

The preorder run will likely be buy a copy of Operation: Mongoose, a kicking tee-shirt, and a Eben07 Year Two poster for about $20. Details on that will probably come late September, though there will be a poll about what color shirt to have.

What remains for the rest of the year is Operation: 3-Ring Bound – and while it is just starting, I think everybody can tell that the pacing of this operation is different. D.Bethel and I have been pouring over I.C.A. archival data and we’re going big with 3-Ring Bound. It will very likely take up the rest of 2009 and the better part of 2010. So buckle up and get ready for a whole lot more Eben07 centered action – and I promise, this time I won’t be asleep for 90% of the series.
